All I can say to the world in general is: go buy yourself some vanilla beans from Amazon. I know the article in CI recommends the McCormick’s $8.99 bottle (2 beans!), but you can get it a whole lot cheaper in bulk. And look at the speckly goodness in that creamy scoop! I don’t even like vanilla ice cream on its own but this recipe changed my mind. Thanks Mom for the magazine! The recipe is a real keeper.
